“4th Floor” is an inclusive space designed to help people with intellectual disabilities take the first steps toward independent living. Here, they can not only adapt but also receive support, learn new skills, and become part of a community.
Supportive living rooms will be spaces where individuals with intellectual disabilities can learn to live independently in comfortable conditions. We plan to create cozy living rooms, a modern kitchen, a convenient bathroom, and a shared hall where therapeutic activities will take place. The space is already available, the design project is ready, and we eagerly await bringing this idea to life.
In Ukraine, there are very few spaces where people with intellectual disabilities can try living independently with the necessary support. We are changing this by creating a place that allows:
● People with intellectual disabilities to adapt to life outside of institutions,
● Future social therapists to gain knowledge and practical experience,
● Society to move toward true inclusion.
Now, to set up supportive living rooms for four people, we need an additional 1 million UAH. We are happy to provide more detailed information upon request. You can also help with building materials and professional labor.
The Academy of Support Workers is an educational program for specialists who will work with people with intellectual disabilities and help them integrate into society. The program is also designed for anyone wishing to acquire these skills, including employees of inclusive offices, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals who want to create support for people with intellectual disabilities.
