About US

Our Story

Good Bread from Good People is an inclusive platform that supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, helping them gain stable employment and develop professional skills in our bakery. We create a space where everyone feels like part of a community and provide opportunities for creative expression through our art workshop.
Beyond that, we lead social impact initiatives:
We donate bread to residents of frontline areas.
We provide free hot meals for those in need.
We run the “Pay-It-Forward Cupcake” initiative, allowing customers to pre-pay for a treat for someone less fortunate.
We believe in the potential of every individual and are committed to building a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Our Journey

2017

With an initial investment of 150,000 UAH (~$5,500), Vladyslav founded Ukraine’s first inclusive bakery in Kyiv, providing jobs for people with intellectual disabilities such as Down syndrome, autism, and cognitive impairments. The goal was clear: help them integrate into society and find purpose.

2018-2019

Growth and expansion. We broadened our product range, moving beyond bread to cakes, cookies, and pies, while launching an online store and delivery service. Community support and brand recognition grew.

2020

The COVID-19 pandemic posed major challenges, but we adapted to ensure continued employment for our team.

2021

We expanded operations, launched the Food Fighters project, and partnered with crowdfunding platforms to provide free meals to those in need.

2022

Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine shifted our mission. We focused on baking and distributing free bread to people in de-occupied and frontline areas. Over 330,000 loaves were delivered within the first year of the “Bread for Frontline Communities” initiative.

2023

We continued our mission, providing employment for people with disabilities and aid for war-affected communities. Construction began on a new inclusive space, featuring supported living facilities for employees with intellectual disabilities and a lecture hall for education and social integration.

2024

We bake 500+ loaves daily. Over 70 people with intellectual disabilities are developing their skills at Good Bread. We launched an art workshop at GoodBread.Hub, allowing individuals to explore painting, sculpture, and other art forms. Meanwhile, our lecture hall for social therapists and supported living spaces are taking shape.

Social impact

We are transforming society in Ukraine - this is not an exaggeration. Our mission is to create a world where everyone has a place.
Society begins with respect for people, and every individual deserves to be seen, heard, and valued. People with intellectual disabilities are no exception. Good Bread exists to make inclusivity the norm.

Learning & development

At Good Bread from Good People, we focus on both the professional and personal growth of every employee. People with intellectual disabilities receive training and mentorship from experienced professionals who help them adapt, develop skills, and become more independent.
Our team members are more than bakers or technicians - they are mentors, requiring patience, empathy, and the ability to teach. Through a structured job rotation system, employees with disabilities continuously learn new skills, supported by their trainers.

Beyond bakery work, creativity plays a big role. Artistic activities are more than self-expression - they provide balance, prevent burnout, and foster holistic development.
Good Bread operates as a social enterprise, reinvesting profits to expand our programs and drive lasting impact.

    Renovabis Foundation (Germany)

Renovabis Foundation (Germany) has supported the Good Bread project: “Developing Skills and Social Integration for People with Intellectual Disabilities through Activities of the Inclusive Platform Good Bread from Good People,” created by the NGO For Good People (Fall 2024 – Spring 2025).
Thanks to the financial support from the foundation, we are able to operate in warm and well-lit spaces, as the grant covers electricity costs. This is crucial for us since all production processes in our inclusive bakery rely entirely on electric ovens.

    United Help Ukraine (UHU)

United Help Ukraine (UHU) is a key donor of Good Bread from Good People. In 2024, their support allowed us to purchase a deck oven.
This equipment helps our team members with intellectual disabilities develop professional baking skills, work in a team, and build self-discipline. The bread they bake is donated to civilians in frontline regions and included in hot meals, which we distribute weekly to displaced persons, low-income individuals, and homeless people in Kyiv.
